Strange Dreams Again... I often have very vivid and senseless dreams. A lot of times I am having them right before I wake up, so they are fresh in my mind. Today's dreams are really weird and make no sense to me. Anyone who reads this will think that I am a kook, but oh well... I was an actress on the set of Will & Grace. (I have not a drop of interest in being an actress in real life...) I loved the people that I worked with but I just knew in my heart that this wasn't the job for me so I resigned. They threw a party for me, which actually turned into a high school graduation party. I started drinking wine or champagne or something and the next thing I know I am drunk as can be. (I don't think I have had a drop of alcohol in over two years or so...) I'm am trying to walk around in really high heels and say good-bye to everyone. I find it easier to walk in just one shoe. I realize that I should have someone drive me home since I am in no condition to do it myself. I find my friend Chris and ask her is she minds taking me home. She said that it was okay but she has to go somewhere first and that I would have to follow her somewhere before I could get in her car. (okay...) So here I am, intoxicated and trying to follow her, next thing I know, I am driving on someone's lawn and she is nowhere to be found! I back off of the lawn and come to an intersection with a stop sign. The next thing I realize is that a car hit a motorcycle and it flies up on to my hood and flips my car over. All of a sudden my husband is with me and he is crying. I start panicking and reach for my cell phone to call the police. When they answer my call they are really chipper like I am calling a business and say, "How may I help you?" I explain the situation and they ask where I am. So after shouting out to all of the people involved in the accident I am informed that I am on Bingo road. I spell it out to the person on the phone, B-I-N-G-O. (I'm surprised that I didn't sing it...too many musical toys for Christmas...) Next, I am awake and feeling fairly insane. So now that everyone know that I am a mental case... Does any one else have crazy dreams? I've never read much on dream interpretation but I would be interested in learning if there is anything behind my funky dreams or if it's just a series of random thoughts that create a bunch of entertaining nonsense. Posted by Sharon Return to Sharon's Cyber Scrapbook Wednesday, December 18, 2002 Positive Thoughts I'm in the process of reading a book called Questions From Earth, Answers From Heaven by Char Margolis. She is a psychic intuitive who teaches people how to do what she does. I am simply fascinated with this topic and others like it. I do believe that we all have psychic abilities, it's just a sense that we have long forgotten. The reason that I believe that it is an undeveloped ability is due to the fact that our brains have become submerged in our day to day thoughts. With so many things to think about, it's not very easy to be intuitive! In her book, she talks about thoughts. She made a very interesting statement. Without thoughts, life would be nothing but random images, sounds, smells, tastes, etc. We wouldn't understand the world around us. That is why it is so important to pay attention to our thoughts, they are truly what makes up our reality. If your thoughts are always filled with negativity, chances are your life is filled with lots of things that make you unhappy. And the same goes for positive, grateful, happy thoughts except your life is probably filled with more pleasant things. And if you are a positive thinker, when something not so happy comes your way, it's still not easy to deal with, it's just that you may have the ability to deal with it better. I try with all my heart to be a positive person. Since I have begun to consciously focus on being that way, I have learned to appreciate so many more things in life. I find more pleasure in the tiniest of things. I believe that the only thing that really exists is right now. Yesterday is a memory and tomorrow is still a dream. So, why not focus on all of the good things that are happening right now? Sometimes they are hard to see at first, but if you look hard enough, you will see them. And when you find them and you focus on them and appreciate them, more will appear! They are leaving on Monday and this will probably be the last day they see each other for a while. She has so much fun with him when we get together. Alec and his mommy are a lot of fun to hang out with. Alec's mommy and I met in the prenatal exercise class that I took. So, the babies known each other since before they were born. Maleena and I will miss them both very much. This all got me thinking about how friendships change and grow throughout our lives. Some friends are there forever, some come and go and some come along only for a brief moment. It's amazing all of the factors that nurture a friendship or distance one. Some friends move to other states and you lose complete touch with them, while others who move away you end up being closer to. Friendships often change with interests. Some of the new friends that I have, I probably would have never met had I not had a baby! Often friendships that begin in childhood don't carry on steadily throughout our lives, because there is a lot of time for interest changes to happen. We grow and evolve in different directions. There are those childhood friendships that do last throughout life, and those are very special. But, all friendships are special whether they are active or not. Because to consider someone a friend, whether it's now or years ago, means that they touched your life in a special way. Why Should You Donate Blood? Posted by Sharon Return to Sharon's Cyber Scrapbook Wednesday, December 11, 2002 It Seems So Long Ago My dad sent this to me. Wow, I can relate to a lot of these! YOU WERE A LITTLE GIRL BORN IN THE 70'S IF..... You wore that rainbow shirt that was half-sleeves, and the rainbow went up one sleeve, cross your chest, and down the other. You made baby chocolate cakes with Jiffy mix in your Easy Bake Oven. You washed them down with snow cones from your Snoopy Snow Cone Machine. You owned a bicycle with a banana seat and a basket. You even owned roller skates with metal wheels. You had nightmares after watching Fantasy Island. (Not to mention "Jaws!") You had rubber boots for rainy/snowy days - remember Moon boots? (you then advanced to Duck Shoes in the 80s) You had either a "bowl cut" or a "pixie", not to mention the "Dorothy Hamill" because your mom was sick! of braiding your hair. How traumatic when people thought you were a boy. You begged Santa for the electronic game, Simon. You spent hours out back on your metal swing set with the trapeze. You even had a pair of Doctor Scholl's sandals (the ones with hard sole & the buckle). You wanted to be Laura Ingalls Wilder really bad; you wore that Little House on the Prairie-inspired plaid, ruffle shirt with the high neck in at least one school picture; and you despised Nellie Olson! You wanted your first kiss to be at the roller rink. Your hairstyle was described as having "wings" and you kept it "pretty" with the comb you kept in your back pocket. You know who Strawberry Shortcake is, as well as her friends, Blueberry Muffin and Huckleberry Pie. You carried a Muppets lunch box to school. YOU even had Star Wars action figures too. It was a big event in your household each year when the "Wizard of Oz" would come on TV. Your mom would break out the popcorn and sleeping bags! You even asked your Magic-8 Ball the question: "Who will I marry...Shawn Cassidy, Leif Garrett, or Rick Springfield?" You completely wore out your Grease, Saturday Night Fever, and Fame soundtrack albums. You tried to do lots of arts and crafts things, like those weird potholders made on a plastic loom. You made Shrinky-Dinks! You used to tape record songs off the radio by holding your portable tape recorder up to the speaker. You learned everything you needed to know about girl issues from Judy Blume books (Are you there God? It's me, Margaret.) You thought Olivia Newton John's song, "Physical" was about aerobics. You wore friendship pins on your tennis shoes, or shoelaces with heart or rainbow designs. You wanted to be a Solid Gold dancer. You had a Big Wheel with a brake on the side, and a Sit-n-Spin. You had subscriptions to Dynamite and Tiger Beat. (or for us 80's girls-Highlights!!) Posted by Sharon Return to Sharon's Cyber Scrapbook Saturday, December 07, 2002 Senseless Anger A couple of days ago, I witnessed road rage in a parking lot. I didn't catch exactly why it all started, but what I did see was a man and a woman yelling and swearing at each other out of their windows. From what I could gather, the woman wasn't moving fast enough for the man so he was driving really close to her bumper. Apparently, she didn't like that so she decided to stop her car dead and not go any further. They argued the entire time that I was putting Maleena in her car seat. (which is no simple task) Finally, the man gives in and backs up and goes down the next lane and parks his car. And what does the woman do? Pulls her car in the other side facing him. The feud continued as they stepped out of their cars. I couldn't believe that this ridiculous fight was actually continuing outside of the car. I pulled away at this point, I really didn't care to be a witness to something really bad. I can't say that I have never had road rage, because driving is one of the only things that can get me furious at times. But what I can do is control myself from expressing it outside of the car. I can get the negative feelings out by cursing and yelling from the privacy of my own space. Why bother expressing it any further? You just never know who the crazy is in the other car. There is too much violence and anger in this world already, we really don't need any more. Especially senseless anger over things like people driving too slow in a parking lot. Posted by Sharon Return to Sharon's Cyber Scrapbook Friday, December 06, 2002 Bring On Christmas! The shopping is done and the Christmas card envelopes are addressed. The only thing left to do is to finish wrapping the gifts. Now I can start to relax and get ready to enjoy some holidays! I just can't believe how fast time is going. Okay, time is still going as fast as it was before, but I guess that I have been too busy to feel it slipping by. I can hardly believe that Christmas is only 19 days away! It's a great feeling to know that the shopping is all done. The closer it gets to Christmas, the further away from the stores I like to be. It gets pretty crazy out there. So, while everyone is out there fighting the lines at the mall, I'll be at home sipping some hot chocolate and counting down the days! Posted by Sharon Return to Sharon's Cyber Scrapbook |
