Why I Like Costco A little over a year ago, they built a Costco about 10 minutes from where I live. I have no interest in membership shopping. I don't think that you should have to pay to shop somewhere. However, they offered a free year to anyone who signed up before the store opened. So, I thought what the heck. I'll try it out. I really didn't find the food prices to be that impressive, but the photo department was the cheapest and the best that I ever used. And since I am so into photography, I felt that I could justify the $45 to renew the membership this year. Last night, to my disappointment, I had discovered that I had a flat tire. I picked up a fix-a-flat and filled up the tire the next day so I could get it somewhere to be replaced or fixed. I remembered that Costco had a tire department and decided to take it there. After about 45 minutes, they told me that my car was waiting for me in the front of the store. I said, "Okay, is anyone going to ring me out?" That's when they surprised me with the news that they fix flat tires for free for their customers! Pretty cool, huh? Posted by Sharon Return to Sharon's Cyber Scrapbook Wednesday, November 05, 2003 Feisty Turtles I finally found a 55 gallon tank with a cabinet stand and a hooded light! All for a mere $50 in the Pennysaver. I had to spend $90 on the filter though and that's okay since this thing is a monster and there is no way I am going to be able to keep it clean on my own. I've had my little buggers for 10 years. I started out with a small aquarium in my room when I lived at home. After I got married, they got their own room and I hardly got to see them! I was so excited to bring them out in the living room where I would be able to see them often. After a few hours in their setup, they started to stress me out! You see, they are two males. And I think it may be mating season... The problem is, Fred is really aggressive. He is constantly a half in inch behind Spaz. I feel so sorry for Spaz. How annoying it must be to be followed around and harassed constantly. Then he gets really vicious and starts to bite at Spaz. Sometimes he gets a hold of the skin on Spaz's neck. This is very frightening to see. I know that they did this when they were in the other room, but now I get to see just how often it goes on. This tank is so huge, you would think that one would stay at one end and the other on the opposite side. Noooo, they just can't leave each other alone. Hopefully when it starts getting cold out, they will settle down. Posted by Sharon Return to Sharon's Cyber Scrapbook |
